Trauma Informed Contemplative Leadership

Coaching Cohort:

12-week online coaching cohort
for leaders, facilitators, and contemplatives

“Without inner change, there can be no outer change. Without collective change, no change matters” —rev angel Kyoto williams

Overwhelm, anger, fear, and even enthrallment can fragment people and systems. Yet your awakened heart is neither lost nor irrelevant. This is a time to tune the instrument of your body, to ground in awareness and connection, and to learn practices that transform reactivity into responsive presence. This presence is experienced as possibility and skill in groups and teams.

Contemplative Leadership is a brave space with other transformational leaders—an immersive journey integrating two essential dimensions of trauma-informed leadership:

  • The outer work of holding space for collective change.

  • The inner work of self-leadership, healing, and foundness.

What is Trauma-Informed?

“In short, trauma is about loss of connection—to ourselves, to our bodies, to our families, to others, and to the world around us.
This loss of connection is often hard to recognize, because it doesn’t happen all at once. It can happen slowly, over time… “
—Peter Levine

There is a lot of talk about the body and trauma (big T and little t), and desire to integrate healing transformation within spirited action. While mental health and justice initiatives often operate as distinct silos, there's a vital need to bridge the gap and recognize the worthiness that underpins all aspects of our existence. This extends from the inner work of leaders navigating anxieties and biases to the outer work of fostering co-regulation in community and co-creating collective change.
